Hall Tex 390 - eine weitere Borte aus Hallstatt

Im September 2024 wurde diese Borte aus der Bronzezeit (datiert ca. 1200 v.Chr.) erstmalig von  Kayleigh Saunderso vorgestellt und nach Ideen zur Rekonstruktion gefragt. 
Damals hatte ich die Vermutung, dass es als Kombination aus Brettchengewebe und Bandgewebe (was so gar nicht meine Baustelle ist) sein könnte. Hatte das aber nicht weiter verfolgt, da ich gerade ein anderes für mich spannendes Projekt auf dem Webstuhl hatte.

Als sie dann Anfang Mai noch einmal auf die Borte aufmerksam machte, sah ich plötzlich etwas ganz anderes. Etwas ganz einfaches.  Ein Brettchengewebe, das eine sehr einfache Kombination aus 2-Fäden pro Brettchen und 4 Fäden pro Brettchen ist.

At the time, I had a hunch that it could be a combination of tablet weaving and ribbon weaving (which is not my thing at all). However, I didn't pursue this any further as I had another exciting project on the loom at the time.

When she drew my attention to the band again at the beginning of May, I suddenly saw something completely different. Something very simple. A tablet weaving, which is a very simple combination of 2 threads per tablet and 4 threads per tablet.

 

 

Da ich für das Wochenende eine einfache Borte suchte, um auf der Veranstaltung zu weben, habe ich kurzerhand den ersten Versuch aufgekettet. 11 Brettchen für die Rekonstruktion und damit das Muster nicht ganz so trist ist, an jeder Seite 2 andersfarbige Randbrettchen. 

 

Ich persönlich bin von dem Ergebnis sehr angetan, das könnte wirklich in dieser Technik hergestellt worden sein. Aber mit mehr Brettchen im Musterteil, statt der 3, die ich versendet habe, jeweils 5.

As I was looking for a simple band to weave at the weekend, I quickly made a warp for my first attempt. 11 tablets for the reconstruction and so that the pattern is not quite so dull, 2 different coloured border tablets on each side.

Personally, I am very pleased with the result, it really could have been made using this technique. But with more tablets in the pattern part, instead of the 3 I sent, 5 each.
