Ein neues Köperband!

 Ich liebäugel schon seit einiger Zeit mit einigen Motiven aus 'Tablet-Woven Treasures' von Maikki Karisto & Mervi Pasanen. Ich mag diese finischen Motive.

Was ich weniger mag, ist die Art, wie sie gewebt wurden, 'Halfturns'. Ich persönlich webe so nicht gerne, auch gefällt mir das Ergebnis nicht so gut, wie ein normales Köperband.

Aber das ist ja Geschmacksache und niemand muss in einer bestimmten Art und Weise weben.

Also habe ich mich hingesetzt und das Band aus Kaarina, Kirkkomäki KM 27025:27205c in ein normales Köperband umgeschrieben.

 Ich habe es denn mit nicht ganz so feiner Wolle gewebt, das Band ist 2 cm breit geworden (das Original war 0,7 cm breit) aber da es nicht als Rekonstruktion, sondern nur als hübsches Band gedacht ist, passt es.

 Mit 15 Brettchen ist es auch breiter als der Fund.

 

 

I have been flirting with some of the motifs from 'Tablet-Woven Treasures' by Maikki Karisto & Mervi Pasanen for some time now. I like these Finnish motifs.

What I like less is the way they were woven, 'halfturns'. I personally don't like weaving like that, also I don't like the result as much as a normal broken twill band.

But that's a matter of taste and no one has to weave in a certain way.

So I sat down and rewove the band from Kaarina, Kirkkomäki KM 27025:27205c into a normal broken twill band.

 I wove it then with not so fine wool, the band became 2 cm wide (the original was 0,7 cm wide) but as it is not meant to be a reconstruction but just a nice band, it fits.

 With 15 tablets it is also wider than the find.
