Some of my reconstructions won't make it on my other homepage where my work is sorted as I'm not satisfied with the result and I have to work on another version sooner or later.
This is one of them.
1898 wurden bei der 3. Grabungskampagne von Albert Gayet in Antinoé im Grab C 395 insgesamt 4 Fragmente dieses Textils ausgegraben, die alle einer Tunika zugeordnet werden.
Laut der Beschreibung in 'Antinoé, à la vie, à la mode : Visions d'élégance dans les solitudes' ist das Band mit 21 oder 22 Brettchen gewebt worden, aber nach dem Auslesen des Musters bin ich auf 15 Musterbrettchen und 4 Randbrettchen gekommen, also 19 Brettchen.
In 1898 Albert Gayet excavated in his 3rd excavation campaign in Antinoé the grave C 395. There were 4 fragments of this textil which are assignet to a tunique.
According to the description in 'Antinoé, à la vie, à la mode : Visions d'élégance dans les solitudes' the band was woven with 21 or 22 tablets, but when read the pattern I've seen 15 pattern tablets and on each side 2 border tablets (alltogether 19 tablets).
Zudem bin ich noch nicht mit der Umsetzung einiger Motive zufrieden, da muss ich noch mal ran, habe aber im Moment keine Ahnung, wie ich es so gestaucht weben kann.
The historic band has a width of 1,0 - 1,1 cm. My version is woven in 20/2 wool (deyed by Archäotechnik Marled Mader) and 1,5-1,6 cm wide. Not good enough.
Additional I'm not satisfied with the execution of the motifes. Some of them don't really fit and I need a way to compress the band more.
