Das brettchengewebte Band von Altrier / LUX

Das brettchengewebte Band, das um  ca. 430  v. Chr. datiert ist (La Tène A), wurde bereits 1971 ausgegraben, aber erst mit dem Bericht in NESAT XII gibt es eine ausführlichere Beschreibung inklusive eines Bildes von dem Muster.

Ich muss gestehen, dass ich lange und ausfühlich auf das Bild gestarrt habe, aber alles, nur kein Muster erkannt hatte.
Erst als Sylvia Crumbach ihren ersten Entwurf veröffentlichte, ging mir ein Licht auf (ok, es war ein ganzer Kronleuchter) und ich sah das Muster.

Im Gegensatz zu Sylvia Crumbach sah ich es aber nicht als Köperborte mit ausglassenen Einzug, sondern hatte es als Sulawesi mit ausgelassenem Einzug entworfen (andere Anfangsstellung der Brettchen, anderer Drehrhythmus). Doch um es auszuprobieren hatte ich nur eine kurze Kette aufgezogen.

Es funktionierte und sogar die Punkte in der Mitte des Musters sind da - aber nur in jedem zweiten Motiv. Und die Struktur ist gut, aber sieht leider nicht so aus, wie auf der Abbildung.

I must confess that I stared quite a lot time on the picture but I couldn't see a pattern. Only flurry lines.
But as Sylvia Crumbach published her first work on this it dawned on me and a saw a pattern.

She did it as 3/1 broken twill with a missing hole but I worked it as a 'Sulawesi' with a missing hole (different starting position and different turning sequences...)

It worked you can see the pattern and you have this little dots - but only in every second motive. And I like the structure, but it is different to the structure on the picture of the original.

As I also had an error in the threading I deceided to finish and to start with a band with the correct threading. 

Da ich zudem noch einen Denkfehler im Aufzug hatte, habe ich mich entschieden, das Probeband nicht weiter zu weben und es vom Webstuhl zu nehmen.

Original Band: 3,7 cm breit, Wolle mit Waid und Kermes gefärbt.
Mein erster Versuch: 20/2 Wolle, chemich und mit Cochenille gefärbt. Ich habe mit insgesamt 52 Brettchen gearbeitet, davon 48 Musterbrettchen, Breite 2,6 cm. Also viel zu fein.

Aber es ist der erste Versuch und ich habe eine ganze Menge über die Borte gelernt.

The original find has a width of 3,7 cm and is deyed with woad and kermes.
My first try: 20/2 wool chemical and with cochenille deyed. I've woven with 52 tablets (48 pattern tablets and got a width of 2,6 cm. I have to use thicker yarn.

But it was only a test and I learned quite a lot.
