Das brettchengewebte Band aus Jakštaičiai-Meškiai, Litauen
Im Nationalmuseum von Litauen gibt es über 100 Fragmente von brettchengwebten Borten, die zu ca. 50 unterschiedlichen Borten gehören. Datiert sind sie in von der Eisenzeit bis ins späte Mittelalter.
So ist dieses Band aus Jakštaičiai-Meškiai dem Frauengrab 60 eindeutig zugeordnet, aber datiert ist die Borte vom 9.-16. Jhd. Über das Grab selber habe ich nichts heraus finden können.
In the National Museum of Lithuania there
are over 100 fragments of tablet-woven bands, belonging to about 50
different bands. They date from the Iron Age to the late Middle Ages.
This
band from Jakštaičiai-Meškiai, for example, is clearly assigned to
the womans grave 60, but the border is dated from the 9th to 16th century.
Es ist ein einfaches, schmales Band, das mit 9 Brettchen in einfacher Schnurbindung gewebt wurde.
Edit 16.04.2025 dank Virginija Rimkutė weiß ich jetzt, dass das Band 1,4 cm breit war.
Ich bin mit meiner Version nicht ganz zufrieden, weil ich zu wenige Kontraste habe, ich hätte einen dunkleren Braunton nehmen müssen.
Verwendet habe ich traditionell gefärbte Wolle 20/2 und das Band ist 0,8 cm breit.
It is a simple, narrow band woven with 9 boards in a simple threaded in.
Edit 16.04.2025 Thanks to Virginija Rimkutė, I now know that the band was 1.4 cm wide. .
I am not completely satisfied with my version because I have too little contrast, I should have used a darker shade of brown.
I used traditionally dyed wool 20/2 and the ribbon is 0.8 cm wide.
